OK I'm Pretrib although my youngest son is Premillenial and I still love him. Eschatological thought seems far more devloped than simply identifying the field in which the 'rapture' will occur. Eschatological thought should be able to rise above cultural forces and 'see' with clarity some priorities Scripture places on last things.

They guy who discipled me used to say..."Pray for pre, be prepared for post." As with many issues, I would fit into the "flex" or "pan" view...it will all work out in good time. My personal eschatology can be summed up pretty easily - Every writer of the NT believed that the Day of the Lord was at hand, it has to be closer today then in their day! In addition, each one went on to talk about how to live in light of this truth...and that is my emphasis...

Isn't being pretrib just a part of premillenialism? My understanding that if you are Pretrib, Midtrib, or Posttrib, you still are a premillenialist. They are just different views on whether Christ returns prior to the Tribulation, in the middle of it, or after it is over.

You are correct...I have friends that are pre, post, and amillennial...all I know for certain is that it will all work in the end Smiley

Agreed. I have a view, but will not be disappointed if what actually happens differs with what I believe. The great news is that Jesus is coming again!

All I can say for a fact, is that He IScoming back, and the most important thing is that WEbe ready when He gets here. As far as before, during or after the tribulation period, I had a Pastor one time tell me that he was leaving before, we could hang around in it if we wanted to. I kinda like that.

GOD Bless You All,

If you had caught me 30 years ago, I could have told you the complete chain of events, but after years of studying the Bible, I don't seem to know quite as much about it as I thought I did coming out of the gate.  I do, however, know that 'we win!'

I think it's important where our focus is.  I'm looking for the uper taker not the undertaker.

Hi there,

I have chosen to check the preterist viewpoint option though I must qualify what I mean by that. As you maybe know, there are two types of Preterism. One is call Full-Preterism and the other is called Partial-Preterism. I am holding the second since the full preterist view is, according to me, totally unscriptural. As a matter of fact, I am a student to the doctorate level and my dissertation will be to make a solid and biblical case for partial preterism.

Partial preterism still believes in the second coming of Christ, the resurrection of the dead and the new heavens and the new earth. These things are rejected by the full preterist school. It is for this reason I am not believing in the full preterism.
